VCSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser) is a vertical resonant semiconductor laser with the performance of longitudinally multiple mode, circle light, low current and low power consumption, stable high temperature performance, suitable for 2-D array. It is an important component for laser mouse. In the future, it will be used in data communication, display and electronic products.
In general, the RCLED is consisted of a Fabry-Perot cavity, sandwiched between upper and lower distributed Bragg reflectors (DBRs) . The cavity is generally designed with 1-thick, and the quantum wells (QWs) are embedded at the antinode of the standing wave cavity mode. The photons are generated from the QWs, oscillating in the cavity, and finally coupling out from one side of DBR, which has lower reflectivity. In comparison to typical light-emitting diodes, the RCLEDs have three time higher external quantum efficiency and the divergent angle is about 100 degrees.
EEL (Edge Emitting Laser) is a edge emitting semiconductor laser with a wide wavelength range of 650nm~1550nm, longitudinally single mode, low power consumption, high light power operation, suitable for consumer and industrial applications, such as bar-code reader, laser aligner and fiber communication etc.
M-com has been focusing on the research and development of III-V compound material solar cells including GaAs, InGaP single junction, and GaAs / InGaP tandem solar cells. We already manufacture the solar cell of 25% power conversion efficiency with size range of 1 mm x mm ~ 3 inches in diameter. The solar cell chips package form can be lamp and SMD types.
